The company was founded in the coastal region of Portugal in 1930 by the Maçarico family, historically known as traders and merchants sourcing products from the land and the sea, a tradition that has been perpetuated over the generations. Selling “ready-to-eat” olives, the company prospered and even began to export its quality products. 50 years later, the range of products was expanded with gherkins, lupins and the famous Piri-Piri spicy sauce.
